How I get my inspiration

Inspiration comes from everything [and] from the entire world, and it's hard to pinpoint one thing. I can trace one inspiration to the writing of 13th-century Zen master Dogen Zenji, who writes beautifully about time.

Don't Miss your opportunity for inspiration!

They say that inspiration for artist, writers, actors, etc is unpredictable and in a sense they are right, however, there is a way to increase the odds.
Its a given that at some point you are going to be staring at a blank sheet of paper or a computer screen, not having a thought in your head. The point is spending less and less time in this all too familiar position.

I remember my grandmother advising me often to read biographies of people surrounding my interest. Would love to peruse through Stephen King's bio and also Sue Grafton or Danielle Steel. They are veterans in their field and obviously have a lot to say about their methods of gathering their sparks or
 ideas!

Seek guidance from those already established

 What is your favorite genre?
This may sound like common sense but what ever style of writing you prefer should be kept on hand; Hey, even if you aren't intrigued with a certain author, keep an open mind because you never know if they have nuggets of genius to offer you in aid of your current project.

You know that expression, "never leave home without it"? As a writer or artist of any kind, the same can be said about a journal. It's a like a silent rattle snake, that will not warn you of its approach. This I speak of insight and you definitely want This snake to bite as often as possible! Or maybe I should reference it to money: suppose your inspiration was represented by you receiving a dollar every time a notion hits you. With you not having your Journal on hand, you are doing yourself and also the world around you, a disservice!
